Sword fern (Nephrolepis exaltata)

The sword fern is a representative of the fern genus, which were the most popular plants in Polish homes once upon a time. Its natural habitat includes the Caribbean area, North and South America. Its leaves reach the length of 60-80 centimetres and are able to absorb harmful substances. This fern is not only an excellent cleaner of its surrounding, it is not exalted or aloof at all! It also does not require any special daily care and generally is not problematic at all when it comes to its 'upbringing'.

How to care about the sword fern?

The soil in the pot where the fern lives should be moist (but not wet!) at all times. To ensure this, the plant should be watered 2-3 times a week in the summer and once per week in the winter. The fern can be made happy easily – regular (even daily!) sprinkling, which it loves, is enough. It feels great at room temperature – if we let it grow at 16-24°C, the plant will certainly be grateful.
