Swiss cheese plant (Monstera Deliciosa)

Although the Swiss cheese plant originates from tropical forests, its a frequent guest at hour home, and not surprisingly so. Its large leaves with characteristic indentation which - in addition to drawing attention and providing an original ornament - play a very important role: they are responsible for correct ventilation of all the vines. Vines? No, this is not a mistake. The Swiss cheese plants functions in the air as fish in water (it even has air roots!).

How to care about the Swiss cheese plant?

The Swiss cheese plant does not need any special conditions to develop correctly and look nice, and its care does not take a lot of time. The temperature it feels best at is 18-24°C. If it is too cold in the room, the plant will definitely… let us know and black spots will appear on its leaves. The plant originates from tropical areas and thus it is not surprising that it likes moist air. This is why regular sprinkling (twice a week in the summer and once a week in the winter is recommended) is one of the best things we can do for it. Do not overuse water, though, as the Swiss cheese plant definitely dislikes its excess. Watering once per week in the summer and once a fortnight in the winter is enough. To provide the plant with ideal surroundings, select a semi-shaded place and avoid substrates with floor heating on or near radiators.
