Peace lily in a rose gold concrete skullPlants & Pots
$30.95Peace lily (Spathiphyllum)
The name of this beautiful, decorative plant with dense, intensely green leaves is not accidental at all – its flowers resemble a lily in the shape. It removes volatile toxins we face every day from the air, extremely efficiently (toxins, which are present e.g. in plastics, cleaning agents or cosmetic products). It is able to absorb substances, such as ammonia, formaldehyde, xylenes, benzene and trichloroethene, and thus – in addition to its excellent looks – it may act as an indoor green filter positively influencing our health. We should be careful, however, if there are small kids or pets at home – the idioblasts of the peace lily contain insoluble calcium oxalates.
How to care for the plant?
Peace lily likes moisture a lot. It should be watered 2-3 times a week in the summer and 1-2 times a week in winter. It prefers the temperature of 21-23°C in the summer and 16-19°C during winter. We should remember to brush the peace lily leaves regularly with a wet cloth – allowing it to better absorb harmful chemicals from the air even more efficiently. It will reward us for the care with beautiful, white flowers which we may adore for several weeks, even up to three months.
